History
Built in 1943, Nangang Bottle Cap Factory was a local manufacturer for corks during Japanese Colonial Rule period. The factory supplied parts for 14 wine factories in Taiwan until 2004. In 2010, Taipei City Urban Regeneration Office remodeled it as URS13, an urban regeneration platform. The historical site, renamed as POPOP Taipei, was reopened on 5 Dec 2020 and has gained its recognition at Taipei City Government Distinguished Public Construction Awards. Under the Eastern Gateway Development Plan, innovative elements make the factory shine again while maintaining its authentic face and manufacturing spirit.
